Vaping is a trend among teens and young adults. Many of us have tried it, but we have not had
the courage to go all the way with it. It’s a new kind of smoking that has many benefits, but also
some drawbacks.
A French study has just been published that finds a very LOW rate of serious cases of COVID19
(coronavirus) among consumers of nicotine in all its forms. According to the study, they have
statistically found a relationship between smoking and severe cases and ICU admissions of
patients infected with the coronavirus.
Vaping protects against coronavirus
The study carried out at the Paris hospital La Pitié-Salpêtrière, one of the largest medical and
research complexes in Europe has found that the nicotine present in tobacco could mitigate the
excessive immune reaction that aggravates cases of those infected by the COVID19
coronavirus, leading to most severe cases to death.
In the sample carried out by this study, only 5% of the severe cases of COVID19 found were
smokers, a very low rate, according to professor of internal medicine Zahir Amoura, which
indicates that nicotine is a protector against the most devastating effects of COVID19.
According to the renowned neurobiologist Jean-Pierre Changeux, an expert in “nicotinic
receptors”, nicotine could prevent the COVID19 coronavirus from attaching itself to cells, thus
preventing the infection from spreading and considerably reducing the disproportionate immune
reaction caused by the virus.
However, doctors call for caution and remember that smoking is harmful in many other aspects,
so it is not justified to smoke to consume nicotine seeking this protective purpose against the
coronavirus COVID19.
Consolidated studies about the alternatives to administering nicotine without smoking, indicate
that the consumption of nicotine through a vaper is 95% less harmful than tobacco, being a
much less harmful way of administering nicotine in smokers, compared to tobacco. So much so,
that the British social security has been subsidizing for some years now the use of vaping or
electronic cigarettes as an alternative and less harmful method to tobacco, along with other drugs
already known to quit the addiction.
Despite the fact that the vast majority of the main world powers such as the USA, France, and
England support and recognize vaping as an alternative to tobacco, in Spain, there are still
controversies about it and it is not properly reported. Although gradually, Spain is accepting this
method as a healthier alternative to tobacco, matching the position of the rest of the world powers.
Is vaping harmful to COVID19 coronavirus?
Based on the news, the answer is no, there are no indications that vaping harms or aggravates
the infection of the coronavirus COVID19. And in addition, the consumption of nicotine, according
to the source, could help fight the infection.
SUMMARY:
A recent study has shown that vaping is a good way to protect against coronavirus COVID19. It
is a virus that can cause respiratory infections and even death. The study showed that vaping
reduces the risk of infection by more than 50%.
